Biography & experience

Rupert Eastwood is Chairperson of Inveztor, where he provides strategic oversight, financial governance, and long-term strategic direction. With over 30 years of global experience across investment banking, early-stage ventures, and capital markets, Rupert brings a rare combination of entrepreneurial insight and institutional rigour to the boardroom.

He began his career at PwC before moving into investment banking at HSBC, Jardine Fleming, and J.P.Morgan. In 2002, Rupert founded Japaninvest Group plc, which became the first UK company to achieve a primary listing in Japan. After a joint venture with Société Générale, the business was acquired by Haitong, where Rupert later served as Country Head across the UK, India, and the US, and as a Non-Executive Director of Haitong International.

In addition to his role at Inveztor, Rupert chairs and advises a portfolio of ventures across fintech, insurtech, sustainability, and education. He has helped steer numerous companies through successful funding rounds, exits, and international expansion, with a focus on capital structure, board leadership, and commercial clarity.

Rupert holds an Master's in Engineering and Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW). When not advising founders or guiding strategy, he enjoys sailing and spending time with his family.
